Gardening is Mom's Best Friend

Hello friends!! It’s been couple of weeks since my last post. I’ve been busy with my job and other things - as usual.  The weather here is not so nice.  Sometimes it’s hot and sometimes it’s cold. Thankfully, my family and I still have good days and continue to enjoy good health.

Some of you might have known that my canopy has been broken since the last storm that hit our village. We still haven't had a chance to replace it with the new one since the weather hasn’t improved yet.  But my mom’s hobby can’t wait!   She loves cooking and gardening.  As we often hear the phrase “Like mother like daughter”, I too love cooking and gardening just like she does.  But the problem is, when some things happen that are out of our control, for example the bad weather, I stopped.

Things are different with my mom.  She keeps on maintaining her small garden on the terrace under her canopy, even with the unstable weather.  I was wondering if we could get a greenhouse, then that would solve my problem!  All would be good.  We could plant seeds anytime we want and nurture them.  Anyway, we do not have the proper land for it since we are living in regency.

But, eager to help my mom, I read books about gardening and browse around too.  There are so many books about seeds and plants, but not a lot of  books about greenhouses.  Fortunately, this morning I came across a great greenhouse site (the internet is the window of the world)!   Gothic Arch Greenhouses is its name. You may visit the site I found and see some of the amazing things that are available there.  They can ship what you need!

I know I can’t go there in person to see the greenhouses, but I think they are something else, because they also provide gazebos and greenhouse supplies.  If they have a place like that in my country, I would be there for sure!  Hopefully we have one here, I'll start looking.

Well, I guess that’s a short update from me. I have another meeting to go to.  So, until we meet again. Keep the joy!!

regards,

Gentle Tongue

"A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit." ~Proverb 15:4

Amen!

Today I learn that human is so fragile. Sometimes they are kind and sometimes they are evil. I sometimes become one of them who don't know where to stand. But I know how to be loyal to the people I call "friend".

Experience is the best teacher. Yes it is. Today I realize that you should pay more attention to what you said. Your words might not hurt directly to the people but what you said to the others may hurt your friend indirectly, whether you realize it or not.

Feeling betrayed by my friend, I started to think whether I do the same thing to my friend or not. The anger in my heart suddenly fade away when I realize that we are only human. We live in this flesh and we are all a sinner. We are all the same.

So, let us pray every day to the Lord, ask Him to rescue us from all deceitful tongues. As the Bible said in Psalm 120:2, "Save me, O LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues". Let the Lord take control of our lips and let Him guard our heart from evil.

God bless you all.

Effective ways to get feedback on your blog

Most of us have blog and love to write on it, but not all of us could attract people to visit our blog and leave some comments on it. What’s wrong with our blog? What’s wrong with us? Within this article I will review most of the things should be considered to drag people to come and give you feedback.

1.    Posting informational post
Writing is easy but writing with benefit needs more skill. This is what you have to do before you post something on your blog: you have to make sure that the information you wrote is useful for your reader.  There are many smart people out there and they are hungry for great information. When they find several informative posts on your blog, they will be your loyal reader and they will be thankful enough to post comments and feedback for you.

2.    Getting Mingle with your readers
You already write informative post on your blog. What do you have to do now? You have to get mingle with your readers.  There are so many sites which provides visitor’s tracker. You can make use of them. Visit your readers back and say thank you to them. You must appreciate your readers first to show them that they are important for you. 3.    Commenting on their blogs
Wise people said that to gain something, you should give something. This rule happens to be the same in the blogosphere. To gain more feedback from your readers, you should give more feedback to them too. Try to visit their site once or twice per week and give comments on their post. Find something interesting on their post and give your honest review or opinion for it. They will really appreciate your review and they will do the same to you.

4.    Decorating your blog
Make an aye catching layout and design for your blog. People will easily be attracted by great and smart color representing your blog. You must know what the category of your blog is and then create a suitable design and layout for it. The blog with user friendly layout will help people to read more and drag others to visit it too.

The story Of Appreciation

Greetings from me, Ichasweetz, Ika, Devita or whatever you want to call me, named it. I get this email from one of my mailing list group. I find this very inspiring. I thought that all of you have to read this. I hope it will change our life and the way we sees ourselves and the world. Happy reading.

***************************

*This is a powerful message in our modern society. *

*We seem to have lost our bearings and our sense of direction.

Story of Appreciation

A young academically excellent person applied for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from secondary school until the postgraduate research, never did he have a year when he did not score highest marks.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"

The youth answered, "none".

The director asked,"Was it your father who paid  your school fees?"

The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid all my school fees.”

The director asked,"Where did your mother work?"

The youth answered,"My mother works as a washer of clothes.

The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked," Have you ever helped your mother wash clothes?"

The youth answered,"Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.”

The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's
hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.”

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to her son.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tears fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many cuts and bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed other people’s clothes everyday which had enabled him to pay his school fees. The bruises in his mother's hands was the price that the mother was paying for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After cleaning his mother's hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: "Please tell me what you did and what you learned yesterday ?"

The youth answered,"I cleaned my mother's hand, and also washed all the remaining clothes”

The Director asked,"Please tell me what you felt."

The youth said,
"Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not be the successful me today.

Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.

Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationships."

The director said, "This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.”

Later on, this young person worked very hard and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wants, will develop the "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts.

When he starts work, he would assume that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his
employees and would always blame others.

This kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not find achievement.

He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying our kids instead?

You can let your kids live in a big house, give them a Driver & Car for going around, Eat  Good Meals, learn to play the Piano, Watch a Big Screen TV. But when you are Cutting Grass or cleaning the car or working, please let them experience it.

After a Meal, let them Wash their Plates and Bowls together with their Brothers and Sisters.

Tell them to Travel in Public Bus, It is not because you do not have Money for Car or to Hire a Maid, but it is because you want to LOVE them in the right way. You want them to
understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair too will Grow Grey, same as the Mother of that young person.

The most important thing is that your kids learn how to appreciate the efforts of their parents and others and experience the difficulty that goes into giving them every luxury and learn the ability to work with others to get things done.

Thank you n Best Regards

Best wishes
